Project overview
A freestanding building has no neighbours to borrow context from. The signage does all the work of telling a passing driver what the building is and whether it is open.

The challenge
What made it difficult
A standalone unit is approached from multiple directions, which means the identity has to resolve on more than one elevation without the building looking over-signed. The illuminated mark also has to work as a silhouette at distance and as a detailed logotype up close.
The concept
How we approached it
Place the identity so that any approach reveals at least one complete instance, and keep a single format across every elevation so the repetitions read as one brand rather than several signs.

Positioning
Sign positions set from the actual approach lines to the site, not from elevation drawings alone.

Illumination
Illuminated construction so the identity carries after dark, when a standalone F&B unit does a significant share of its trade.

One construction format repeated across elevations, keeping finish and illumination character identical from every direction.
