Project overview
A cinema foyer is a long, wide, brightly lit space where the audience is already walking toward somewhere else. Columns are the only vertical surface in it — which makes them the only place a message can be read from every direction at once.
Scope of work
- Four-sided LED column wraps
- Structural collar and cabinet mounting
- Power and data routing
- Commissioning and content handover
The challenge
What made it difficult
Wrapping a column is harder than building a flat wall. The cabinets have to meet at the corners without a visible seam or a dead band, the whole assembly has to sit inside the existing column footprint without narrowing the walkway, and the concourse is lit brightly enough that an under-specified panel would simply wash out.
The concept
How we approached it
Treat the run as one installation rather than a set of individual screens. Every column carries the same content at the same moment, so the repetition down the concourse reads as a single designed environment instead of a row of advertising boards.
The solution
FROM DRAWING
TO HANDOVER.
- 01
Wrapped cabinets
Segmented cabinets built around each column so all faces read continuously and the corners close without a dark seam.
- 02
Brightness for the space
Panel brightness specified against the concourse lighting, so campaign content holds its colour rather than flattening out.
- 03
Contained footprint
Structure and cabinet depth kept within the column envelope, with a base collar concealing power and data, so circulation width is unaffected.
- 04
Synchronised content
All positions driven together and commissioned so seasonal campaigns change across the whole concourse at once.
